April Meeting at Moose Lodge
Our April meeting will be at yet another venue: the McHenry Moose Lodge!
Moose Lodge 691 is located at 3535 N. Richmond Road (a.k.a. Illinois Route 31), on the southwest corner of Richmond and Johnsburg Roads. The meeting will, as usual, commence at 7:00 p.m.
And Tuesday — from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. — is $1 Taco Tuesday!
January Meeting at Sports Page MY PLACE
Sports Page has suddenly decided to not be open on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday; so once again our meeting has been moved; this time to My Place at 4621 W Elm Street. That’s between Car-X and O'Reilly Auto Parts, on the south side of the street, across from McHenry Furniture.
January Meeting at Sports Page
The January meeting will be at Sports Page, the old Firewood location on Route 120. We will not be meeting at Marzano's; it is not available.
Trash Day is Tuesday
Monday’s usual trash pickup will be delayed until Tuesday, for the next two weeks. Pickup will be on December 27 and January 3.
In case you didn’t know, you are in McHenry Precinct 34, and your polling place is
Evangelical Free Church Of Mchenry
2614 N. Ringwood Road
The polls will be open from 6 A.M. to 7 P.M. You did remember to change the time on your clocks, didn’t you?
There’s a meetin’ tonight!
Marzano’s on 31, at 7:00 p.m. Be there. Aloha.
October Association Meeting at Marzano’s
Our October meeting will again be at Marzano’s, despite a previous report that we were looking for a new venue. Thanks to Gerry Stueckemann for knowing the secret password.
Labor Day Trash Pickup
Trash pickup isn’t happening this coming Monday; because of Labor Day holiday, pickup will be on Tuesday, September 6.
New Sign at the Old Lot
All Dressed Up and Nowhere to Go
When our previous off-site meeting place, Firewood, unexpectedly closed in December, we managed to locate a suitable venue at Marzano’s on Route 31; we had previously held some January meetings there.
But once again, we’re looking for an Association meeting site. Marzano’s is under new management, and the cost of using a banquet room is ridiculous — for us, anyway.
If you know of any local establishments with really inexpensive conference rooms, please contact us. We need a new one!
Rumor has it that the former Firewood will be reopening as a sports bar, but we don’t know if they will still be making rooms available for meetings.

There’s a page for that.
McHenry County Choppers
ComEd Scissorhands is planning its usual hack-and-slash of the local plant life. They’ll be in our area during the next three months, reducing our glorious woodland treasures to gnarly, disgusting remnants, all the while telling us that they’re protecting our power lines.
For more information, see ComEd.com/Trees , or call 800.334.7661 (“800-Edison-1”, if you’ve got the time to find those tiny letters on your phone) and ask to speak with a “Vegetation Management representative”.
Meeting Place Found: Marzano’s
The January 19 meeting will be held at Marzano’s, 1501 S. Route 31, McHenry. We’ve met there before, for a few of the January meetings. 7:00 p.m.
We Need a Meeting Place
Our usual meeting place, Firewood Restaurant, unexpectedly closed on December 30. Our next meeting needs a location! Any suggestions? Contact us if you’ve got one.
Mike Bown reports “They did it again! Signpost at corner of Matanuska and Ojibwa vandalized sometime Friday night. I have all pieces, will get repaired.”
The Woodcreek Board of Directors meets on the third Tuesday of the first month in every calendar quarter. The meetings begin at 7:00 p.m.
